Educational Trip: Toward Urbanization of Thailand

A small group of 10-12 members - doctoral students and staff members from Surindra Rajabhat University (SRRU) come to visit Bangkok and surrounding communities to explore growing urban areas - people living, working, commuting life.

Assignment: A pictorial essay will be presented individually by participating members after the trip.

Dress: Casual

At Surindra Rajabhat University Administration Building, Muang Surin
11:30 hrs
Lunch along the way – Buriram, Highway 24
16:00 – 20:00 hrs
Old City of Bangkok and Khaosan Road
Dinner at Khaosan Road
20:30 hrs
Check in at the Hotel, Saphan Kwai area, Bangkok
Day II: Saturday, March 9, 2013
8:00 – 8:40 hrs
Lunch at the hotel
9:00 – 11:40 hrs
Group discussion at The Red Brick House, Aree Samphan 5. Bring your laptop/tablets and cameras.
11:40 – 12:20 hrs
Lunch hosted by Cooparat Family
13:00 –
17:00 hrs
Urban living in Bangkok: High Rise/low rise Condominiums, shopping – Central World, Siam Paragon, MBK, Platinum, Pantip Plaza, commuting via mass transit (BTS-MRT)
18:00 – 20:00 hrs
Dinner at a restaurant within the shopping center, and free time
20:30 hrs
At the hotel
Day III: Sunday, March 10, 2013
8:00 – 9:00 hrs
Breakfast at the hotel
10:00 – 13:00 hrs
Suburban life Samutprakan area: Mega Bangna, IKEA, HomePro, Robinson, industrial areas, DIY concept, etc.
Lunch at IKEA

Traveling back to SRRU, Surin
Dinner/supper along the way.
